In China, wearing red means good luck! Hannah and her family were in the studio recently, all wearing red and I think it worked really well.
Choosing the right colours to wear for a family shoot is really important. After all, you will most likely be looking at this family photo in a frame on the wall of your home, for years to come. Hannah lives here with her husband and son and waited until her parents were visiting to come in for a special family shoot.
2016 was my 16th year shooting weddings and it didn’t disappoint. There were so many lovely couples who I met and spent time with, many of which I would easily have loved more time with as they were such good company. Thank you ALL for being so amazing!
The nice thing about this job is that so often we do meet again, when little babies come along and more photos, of a different kind, are needed.
Weddings took me all over the country this year, in every kind of mixed-bag weather, as you can well imagine.
It was really difficult to narrow down some favourite images , there were just too many.
Bring on 2017…
A beautiful wedding from start to finish happened on a sunny day in the middle of the summer.
Laura got ready at home and travelled down to Culmullen church for a 1.30pm ceremony.
I think this is my new favourite church, by the way. Gorgeous and light-filled and just the right size to seat everyone comfortably.
The atmosphere was giddy and helped along by a good-humoured priest who made the ceremony a memorable one.
We travelled to Virginia Park Lodge in Cavan for a perfect outdoor summer reception. Guests clinked glasses together outside in the sun-filled garden as we chose the shaded parts for some couple shots. The light could not have been better and I got so many beautiful images here. A big thanks to Laura and Niall for allowing me to share some of these images. It is so important for photographers like me to be able to share their work with other brides and grooms so they can see what we can do 🙂

Virginia Park is a beautifully restored old hunting lodge in Co. Cavan. It has become a very popular wedding venue with couples who adore great food and attention to detail.
Under the skilled hand of renowned chef Richard Corrigan, this lodge is earning a wonderful reputation as a very stylish and special wedding venue.
After a beautiful ceremony in Longford cathedral, we all went to this lovely lodge and thankfully the March showers stayed away until the very end of the day. Super timing!
Thanks to Maeve and Clarke for allowing me to share a few photos from their day and for the details below.
